A young female Italian immigrant, Maria Rosa Segale receives the ultimate calling to serve God. Her innocent and devoted life is interrupted to accept an assignment in the developing Southwest Territories. Our protagonist is naive to the dangers she would encounter but excited about the missionary work with her fellow Sisters of Charity. Sister Blandina quickly finds herself in the middle of the violent and untamed territories off the dangerous Santa Fe Trail. Cowboy, outlaws, and evils characters confront her ideals and force her to stay strong in her faith against the temptations of the world. Her commitment to serve all humanity including the immigrants, native Americans and the innocent orphan children is constantly challenged. Living through daily raids by “Indians” and stagecoach robberies, she continues to fight back and stand against government corruption along the Santa Fe Trail. Sister Blandina recognized the dignity in all humans, and during her 90 years of life, he helped build churches, schools and hospitals in the American west. She will be canonized in 2022 for her service to God “Gesu”.
