Caught in an international conspiracy to control the global electronic mineral market, a jaded CIA assassin tries to save the daughter of a scheming tech company CEO when she is kidnapped by a brutal militia in the Congo.

John Stapleton is a ruthless tech CEO who works with the CIA to engage in proxy wars with the Chinese for control of electronic component mineral territory in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He and the CIA hatch a plan to send a covert team led by Sawyer, to assassinate the chief warlord in Katanga province, Joseph Nkunda, and wrest control from the Chinese in conjunction with General Liwanga and the government in Kinshasa. Stapleton’s daughter, Sienna, is head of Corporate Social Responsibility for their company and happens to be in the DRC inspecting the company mines when the plot goes down. Someone betrays Sawyer’s team and alerts Nkunda. He kidnaps Sienna and slaughters everyone but Sawyer, with whom he has a grudge, Nkunda wants to kill them, Liwanga has orders to save Sienna but “clean up” the CIA op, and the Chinese want to secure Sawyer for intel. There are local tribes who enter the fray as well. Will Sawyer and Sienna make it? Who betrayed Sawyer’s team to begin with? Who will be left in control of the trillions of dollars of rare earth minerals in the DRC? And what is the fate of the poorest people of the DRC caught in the middle of these destructive power grabs?
